What Youth Leaders Say

"I liked the reality that the Sound Off brought to the youth who participated. They all felt blessed and expressed how fortunate they were for all they had. It was a truly inspiring event."

About Sound Off

The Sound Off for Poverty engages the hearts and minds of youth for people in need through:

About Sound Off
  1. Education - choose from a variety of tools and activities to teach students about the realities of people in need in your community and across the United States. Activities include a corresponding Bible Study series.
  2. Service – help students act on their faith by participating in community service projects or drives for items such as school supplies, blankets, food, personal care products, hats and mittens, or other products to restock the shelves of outreach ministries that serve the poor.
  3. Public Awareness – empower young people to bring greater awareness to your church and community of the issues of poverty in America.
  4. Fundraising – challenge students to sacrifice electronic entertainment for at least three days, in order to raise funds to help people in need through Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC).

What Youth Leaders Say

Before

Before the Sound Off weekend, youth find sponsors who pledge money for every day that they abstain from electronic entertainment (Media Fast).

During

During The Sound Off, your group conducts a Media Fast while the youth learn about poverty, put their faith into action through service to the community, and "turn up the volume" on the needs of the poor.

After

After The Sound Off, send your group's donations to Love In the Name of Christ to provide tangible help and hope to people in need, and watch kids grow in their faith as they become more attuned to God's voice and His heart for the poor.
