You are supporting a movement that is revolutionizing how churches work together to bring the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways to the poor and needy across this country!
You’ll find that your Student Journal is an excellent resource full of great information on how to make your Sound Off successful. Using the journal, you’ll be sure to grow in your faith as you bless the poor in your community and across America.
Conduct a Media Blast before your Media Fast.
You will experience success in fundraising to help the poor when you conduct a Media Blast (getting the word out through all of your electronic media channels) prior to your Media Fast.
In the weeks leading up to your group’s Sound Off for Poverty weekend, spread the word electronically about what you are doing. Make phone calls, e-mail, Facebook, text, blog, or twitter.

I’m contacting you because I have committed to give up all electronic entertainment, such as my cell phone, iPod, video games, and the Internet for 48 hours in order to raise awareness and money to help people in poverty in our country. This is something that my youth group is participating in together on (date of your event). During my Media Fast, I’ll be learning about poverty in America and how, through God’s love, I can make a difference in the lives of people in need.
Will you please make a donation in support of my Media Fast? The money you give will help the poor through Love In the Name of Christ. You can mail me a check made out to Love INC for the tax-deductible donation, or you can donate online.
